DOH CHD-1 personnel, headed by DOH CHD-1 Unit Head Dr. Erika Sibayan,  facilitated the conduct of Onsite Screening Assessment at the DENR Region 1 Office.

DOH CHD-1 hosted the Integrated Advocacy on Healthy Lifestyle Program in Regional Government Agencies, particularly with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 1 Office. A total of 113 DENR personnel took the Risk Screening Assessment using the Philippine PEN protocol to screen their risks in acquiring diseases collectively known as lifestyle related NCDs such as cancer, chronic respiratory disease, diabetes, and hypertension. Each participating DENR personnel also underwent glucose, cholesterol, and urine tests as well. The risk-screening activity was facilitated onsite DENR Region 1 office by DOH CHD-1 medical personnel on March 17, 2021. Consequently, the risk-screening was followed by a virtual meeting conference on 19 March 2021 consolidating the results of the March 17 activity.

The activity aimed at creating partnerships with NGAs in the promotion of healthy lifestyle in the workplace through personnel health assessment and raising awareness in the increasing number of mortality and morbidity associated to NCDs.

In line with the current and prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, upholding healthy lifestyle and wellness at working environments are deemed necessary to retain quality, productive, safe and continuous efforts to battle the impact of the contagion.

Promoting healthy office lifestyle especially in the government makes employees realize that they are taken cared and looked after. Recognizing that the employees are the best asset of every organization, and putting effort into employee wellness can encourage better teamwork, increased productivity and reduced risks to acquire Covid-19 virus.

DOH CHD-1 commits to continue to support healthy and dynamic workforce in several government offices by delivering essential health services such as this Integrated Advocacy on Healthy Lifestyle Program.
